Delhi_NightclubPost the horrific Nirbhaya rape and murder incident in December 2012, Delhi’s nightlife was severely clamped down. All nightclubs, bars and lounges are suppose to shutdown by 1am. In fact cops and beat police literally walk into these places and ensure the place is empty. At times the cops directly order customers to leave. It is totally unfair. I don’t subscribe to this policy adopted by Delhi Police post Nirbhaya Rape Incident. The number of policemen they waste in ensuring that nightspots are shut should ideally patrol the streets where probably the real threat is. But who can argue with the cops and their archaic mindset. The business of clubs, bars and lounges have been badly affected.

'Private Room'Cops_Party PoopersBut then we have few who are great at dodging the law. Few clubs have created a ‘Private Room’ for their high-spenders. The club shuts at the stipulated 12:45 am but the special guests and high spenders are discreetly moved into the ‘Private Room’ where the party continues till dawn. The ‘Private Room’ has a separate DJ, good sound-proofing, separate bar and even a washroom. So when cops come snooping, they will find no action at the club.

The nightclub at The Lalit – Kitty Su was the first one to carry on the clandestine after-party at the ‘Private Room’ and has found LAP resorting to similar tactic. No-doubt shutting nightspots at 12:45 am is a dumb idea but dumbber is the fact that the police aren’t aware of these after-parties at ‘Private Rooms’ hidden within the clubs. Or is it that the cops turn a blind-eye for reasons well known???

Some People never grow up; never learn!

On Saturday at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2011 when Ramona Narang and Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna were showcasing their collections at The Taj Palace Hotel, this Page 3 obsessed self-proclaimed socialite walks in without a bonafide front-row seat and eyes for a vacant coveted front-row seat. There were non available. Her friends quietly sat on the seats available on the second row but this wannabe socialite won’t. It is demeaning to her ‘stature’. Hahaha! Come on, if you really deserved one, a front-row seat would had been reserved for you. Why don’t you get this simple fact in your head.

So what does this Wannabe Socialite do? Well she walks up to FDCI Prez, Sunil Sethi (known for his big-heart) and pleads to him to accommodate her. Poor guy had no choice but to oblige and let the Wannabe Socialite park her big derriere on his front-row seat. We couldn’t help but laugh at it all and pity Sunil Sethi who was really uncomfortable throughout the show. Grow up lady. It’s not the first time you have been piling on to others’ seats in the front-row. Once you shamelessly grabbed a ‘Media’ seat and many a times squeezed yourself between people making every one uncomfortable.

Delhi’s self-confessed socialites are becoming shameless by the day. At the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out at DLF Emporio, there were hordes of Gatecrashers at the After-Party at Setz. Designers too gatecrashed and so did another wannabe socialite with a group of 10. Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor were denied but some pushy designers and socialites managed to push in. I fail to understand why would one like to go where they aren’t invited?

At the same Vogue Fashion’s Night Out after-party there was a couple, a typical case of Delhi’s show-off walas. This couple – Pernia Qureshi and Arjun Prasad booked the Private Dining Room (PDR) at SETZ very well knowing that the place is booked for VNO’s after-party. They – Pernia and Arjun were seen pulling in people at the PDR. Saw them pulling in JJ Valaya and Suneet Varma who were there for the Vogue party and not for this show-offs Private Dinner. Tch-Tch…things people do to show-off. After all pop-in-law’s wealth doesn’t prick Arjun Prasad to hold lavish dinners just to show off!

Fashionscandal.com was the FIRST to report in November 2010 about Samir Thapar of JCT and few other Thapar Companies selling off everything and leaving India for good. You can read the older post in the Archives or here - http://fashionscandal.com/index.php/2010/11/sameer-thapar-…his-properties/

JCT, the Thapar Company owned a prestigious football team in India. The team had great players but now with the sudden shut-down of the team as its owner is cooling his heels in Canada, the 20 odd talented players suddenly find themselves in the lurch. Samir Thapar sold off his Lutyen’s Delhi House to DLF for an astounding Rs.300 Crores. Now sources tell me that Rajiv Singh of DLF is rennovating that huge palatial house to gift it to his daughter.

Samy (that’s what friends called Samir) Thapar lived an extravagant life. Fast cars, fast babes and lately his Aurangzeb Road house had become The After-Party Adda in town for every trashy firang girls. All sorts of expat girls – from backpackers to NGO workers to lingerie models illegally working without work-permit landed at Samy’s house for flowing booze, great food, luxuriant bathrooms to powder their nose and much-much more. Samir Thapar’s businesses weren’t doing good. How can they when the man is partying hard every night??? Reportedly he was in huge debts and that’s when he liquidated his properties and moved off to Canada.

Now Ajay Singh who dreamt of making it big when he left his modest home in Ropar last year and signed a two-year deal with JCT has nowhere to go. The young striker, who comes from a poor background, did make his mark by scoring five of JCT’s 17 goals in the I-League but today he is a devastated man. With JCT disbanding the team abruptly, Ajay is jobless. A few clubs approached him immediately at the end of the I-League but he rejected those because he had a two-year contract with JCT. Now, no one knows from where he will receive his next month’s salary.

Li’l Birdie chirped that on Sunday night (4th April 2010) post the Delhi Daredevils & Deccan Challengers match at Delhi where Daredevils thrashed Challengers, the ‘real’ after party was at the Presidential Suite (#1724) of the ITC Maurya. If you wondering why, it’s because Michel Adam, the owner of Fashion TV was holed in there with loads of ‘goodies’.

Wondering what is the F TV boss doing at IPL? Well Michel Adam & IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi are partners and Modi’s Modi Entertainment Network (MEN) holds the license for all FTV ventures in India – FTV, F Bar, F Salon et al.

When it comes to partying, Adam is a hardcore party animal. He travels with a bevy of blondes and that sure is an attraction. So it was at Michel Adam’s suite where all the action was -accessible only to the elite few – Michel Adam and his glamorous entourage, Lalit Modi, Vijay Malaya, his lucky mascot – Katrina, Sid Malaya, Anusha Dandekar, a media tycoon and hordes of blondes. Champagnes popped and cherries popped too, among other ‘stuff’.
