I simply love Meryl Streep’s comments! They are so damn unpretentious an cool. A few days back at the Women In Film 2012 Crystal + Lucy Awards when a reporter asked Streep, “So, Devil Wears Prada 2, are we going to see it?” Streep was flabbergasted. She didn’t even know there was a sequel in the works. “Yeah…no, no, is there one? I’ve never heard about it,” she said. “But, sure, I mean I’d have to lose the fuuucking weight, but I would do that, yeah.” Watch the video below (be patient – the Devil Wears Prada question comes at 3:35):
Nearly 10 years after Lauren Weisberger penned her bestselling novel, The Devil Wears Prada, she’s giving it a sequel. Weisberger is in the process of writing Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, to be published by Simon & Schuster in April 2013.
The new book catches up with former Runway assistant-to-the-editrix Andy eight years after she’s parted ways with her demanding boss Miranda Priestly. Though Andy is now the editor of a bridal mag, she’s still “haunted” by ‘Ice Queen’ Priestly– famously inspired by Vogue’s EIC, Anna Wintour to whom Weisberger was once a real-life assistant.
There’s no film sequel in the works just yet but the buzz in Hollywood is rather strong that the sequel will be made.
Desperate to give his show Koffee with Karan- Season 4 an international flavour, Karan Johar has roped in the trashy American ‘Good-for-Nothin’ Socialite, Paris Hilton for his show. Wonder why Paris? Couldn’t he get anyone better or is it that Karan Johar is enamoured by Paris Hilton? On the other hand Simi Garewal managed to interview the biggest pop star – Lady Gaga!
Anyone who’s seen Paris Hilton on any late night chat shows in the US knows she can’t string two interesting words together to save her life, and does little but giggle in a breathy teenager’s voice. What could have possibly made K Jo think that she was a good choice of guest on his show? If this were Meryl Streep or Matt Damon coming to India or even pop-star Akon then Karan Johar would have been able to claim a massive scoop in getting an interview with them. Why is he rolling out the red carpet for someone as boring as Paris Hilton? He’s gone nuts!
