Manavendra Singh Gohil, the Prince of Rajpipla who caused a nationwide stir by coming out of the closet in 2006 and declaring that he is Gay was recently in New York. Being a part of the Raj and a Gay caught the Americans’ fascination and was lapped up by the rag-mag – V Magazine, which did a feature on him.

The interesting bit however is that Manavendra Gohil was fortunate to be shot by none other than the inimitable photographer STEVEN KLEIN and the shoot was styled by the Creative Director of Thierry Mugler and the stylist of Pop-Diva, Lady Gaga NICOLA FORMICHETTI.

Manavendra Singh Gohil however didn’t wear anything of Mugler. The Prince wore his traditional Sherwani and Safa!

MUGLER womens ready to wear fall/winter 11/12 “anatomy of change” debut womenswear collection under the creative direction of Nicola Formichetti was live-streamed yesterday (2nd March, 2011), showcasing a spectacular combination of fabrics, leathers, and plastics that create a look that is purely Mugler.
But it wasn’t just the patent leather pencil skirts, latex ensembles, and big plastic shoulders that caught attention. Known for creating a complete spectacle with his shows, it should come as no surpise that Mugler also featured Lady Gaga, strutting the runway while blowing cigarette smoke in the attendee’s faces. With these two fashion renegades, we can only hope to see more collaboration in the future.
