Don’t most self-proclaimed fashionistas spend hours in front of the mirror? More so the ones who hire PR to brand themselves as Divas and seek invitation to parties? Well here is one such case – Aijesh Oberoi who claims to be a fashion designer (But then who isn’t?). These days I get to see her pretty often on ‘Page Trash’, oops -’Page 3′.
Aijesh Oberoi was lately snapped at some random do where she happily posed for the paparazzi in her fashionable clothes and ignored the fact that her top was short for the low-slung pants she wore, making her belly peek out. I am sure it is not a deliberate attempt to give a sneak-peek of the belly or the latest fad. If it was, then madam Oberoi should have had done something about the ungainly stretch marks. Have a look for yourself.
Dear divas, wearing fancy labels doesn’t make you fashionable. Wearing clothes that compliment your body sure does!
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Spring/Summer 2012 is going great. There were plenty Bollywood glitter. I saw Rajeev Khandelwal, Prateik Babbar and Kalki, Behenji Trying To Be Mod – Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone, Lisa Hayden whose butt has grown bigger since Rascals and Gauhar Khan.
By the way I spotted the Herve Leger flaunting Wannabe Socialite at Raakesh Aggarwal’s show. Her belly portruded from the body hugging Red Herve Leger dress and this time she had a valid front-row seat. But this Page-3 wannabe ensured she is clicked by the paparazzi before leaving. Mission Accomplished Madam-ji?
My choice of ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ shows for Day 2:
Sanchita Ajjampur opened her show with Art Deco swimsuits and Bikinis (thankfully the models were waxed clean down there) and then went on to show some cool resort wear. I particularly loved the Sari T-shirts, the wide-legged chiffon pants, the sundresses with floral appliques, and the feather prints that were really unique. My favourites however were the chiffon gowns with unfinished hems. I hate kaftans but Sanchita gave them a whole new twist, which I found rather alluring.
Namrata Joshipura took us on a Pink Floyd trip. I love her work and she timely moved off from those sequin bathed look, which was becoming synonymous to her label. The colours were perfect for a summer line – Glacial, Ivory, Grey and some Black. I loved the goddess draped dresses and skirts, the Shirt-dresses textured with floral and diamond motifs and something innovative, which Namrata called ‘Kinematic Waves’ and of course the spiky shorts.
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are in Delhi to be part of the wedding celebration in Passi family. Saturday night Sanjay and Shalini Passi hosted a dinner do and SRK, Gauri and their ‘compulsory baggage’ – Arjun and Mehr Rampal were there. ShahRukh wanted absolute media blackout at this dinner.
I feel bad for Sanjay and Shalini Passi as they love to be on Page3. In fact the Passi couple used to send Rs.25,000 to every Page3 photographer in Delhi on Diwali till few years back. Then I wrote about it in a newspaper and the 25K Diwali Bonanza to shutterbugs stopped. I still get an earful from them. And when it comes to 
flaunting their friendship with SRK and Gauri, they tactically leak the private pictures to tabloids once SRK leaves. It happened few years back when Passis sent the private pictures to Delhi Times the 
moment SRK boarded his flight.
But last night Shalini and Sanjay’s phones went unanswered. They didn’t dare to risk offending SRK by sneaking in paparazzi. Imagine their predicament while observing King Khan’s media blackout???
Last week I posted about possible affair brewing between Priya Sachdev Chatwal and industrialist Gautam Thapar. Loads of society walas vouch that something’s cooing between the two but they also say ‘Gauti’ is not the one to be taken for a ride. He’s a sorted out guy.
Well Gautam Thapar celebrated his birthday a couple of weeks back in Thailand in style. He flew down his friends in a chartered craft and had Donna Summers of ‘Love to Love you Baby’ fame fly down for a private gig. And the best part, Gautam kept it private and unlike many of Delhi’s high-fliers, didn’t strategically leak the photographs of his extravagant bash to the city’s tabloids to be splashed all over Page 3. Way to go dude!
Only Sanjana Jon can do it – get a sponsor to fund her birthday bash.
Well for celebrating her birthday, Sanjana embarked upon a fresh social cause – ‘Go Green’ – and roped in a sponsor, a builder making eco-friendly ‘Earth Towne’. Smart huh? She gave up her other charitable cause – ‘Girl Child’ and went with ‘Green’ to milk a sponsor. In fact even Chunky Pandey is known for roping in sponsors for his birthday parties. But then a sponsor gets his moolah’s worth by sponsoring a film star’s birthday. Wonder what our Builder bhai got from sponsoring Sanjana Jon’s birthday. Local Page 3s covered this lack-luster evening and ignored the poor builder.
Birthday girl – Sanjana wore a ‘Green’ (probably self-designed) tacky gown, which didn’t look like eco-fashion at all. Even the cake was ‘Green’, which was definitely coloured by chemical additives. So much for a ‘Green’ Birthday. Many happy returns of the day, Sanjana!
