If you are wondering why I am drawing a parallel between our very own Ms. Beri and the infamous coke slut – Lindsay Lohan, it’s simply because of one man and that man is Mounir Moufarrige. Mounir was the man who got Lohan the job of the creative director at Ungaro and you all must have seen what a (disastarous) collection it was. Mounir left Ungaro and Lohan was unceremoniously dropped.
Mounir Moufarrige was again the man who got Ritu Beri the plum job of a creative director at Jean-louis Scherrer. She did one collection for Scherrer (I think it was the Spring 2003 collection) and was taken off the job. Here too Moufarrige moved on from France Luxury Group that owned the label Jean-louis Scherrer and next came Ms. Beri’s marching orders.
Hope Ritu Beri comes out with a credible collection at the forthcoming Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week so that we can thumpingly say – Beri is Better than Lohan. What say you?

Very selective. I guess you’re forgetting that Moufarrige was the man who brought Stella McCartney into Chloe? the man who many credit with the creation of the mont blanc pen over forty years ago? can’t get it right every time, agreed, but the man has done some pretty innovative stuff.
Yes Richard, I am aware of Moufarrige’s brilliant strokes – a la Stella and Chloe, Montblanc, etc. But lately he seems to have lost the Midas Touch.
I think Lindsay’s about to find out that the cushy rehab facility experience differs significantly from the federal pentitentiary system.
