The Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a letter on the 19th of March, 2019 that had the Seal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) instead of the official Seal of the ECI. This letter went viral on the social media and gave fodder to the Opposition Parties to state that the Constitutional Body like the Election Commission of India is compromised. The ECI came out with the clarification that it was a ‘clerical’ error. But the question is what was the BJP Seal doing in the office of the Election Commission??? The Election Commission must not ought to be fair, but appear to be fair.
The Chairman of The Raymond Group, Gautam Singhania and seven others were involved in a speedboat accident in Maldives. Accompanying in the boat with Singhania were former Rally Champion, Hari Singh, Cdr. Mahesh Ramachandran and two ladies. Gautam Singhania and his two lady friends were saved and the trio immediately flew back to Mumbai. Singhania did not waste any time to help find his friends who were in his boat at the time of the accident. Eventually Hari Singh’s body was found and the Arjuna Awardee, Cdr. Mahesh Ramachandran is still missing. The media is abuzz with stories about Gautam Singhania being on the wheels of the speedboat at the time of the accident and the insensitivity displayed by him towards his friends. There are no investigation by the Government of India of the incident even when it involved a big Indian industrialist, an iconic Motor Rallyist and an Arjuna Awardee naval luminary. Sordid saga of moolah power of the rich is at play.
