Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2011, an Avant-Garde Collection

The Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2011 collection flattens out the runway and provides a two-dimensional feel with its box-cut pieces.

The boards on the featured garments were upholstered in androgynous looks of boyfriend blazers and menswear pants. Looks like the designer is trying to tell us that straight lines and strong shoulders are the in-look for the coming seasons. Check out these boxy models catwalk down the runway.

I had once read someone describe MMM as basically a more expensive Gap. I guess there was a kernel of truth in that :). Dries van Noten for me all the way!

Jak, someone is using my ID to write stupid things. That first comment is not from me! The first comment on the Parameshwar Godrej post (saying “Careful Jack”) is also not from me. Can you please make sure that two people don’t use the same ID. You know what my email ID is so you know which comments are from me.
