Cinema Against AIDS, held each year since 1993 during the Cannes Film Festival, is a world-renowned charitable fundraiser and arguably the most coveted ticket of the film festival. The 2013 event will feature “The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show,” curated by Carine Roitfeld as a tribute to Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who was also the co-founder of amfAR. Forty top models will participate in a spectacular runway presentation of one-of-a-kind gold looks, which will also feature a range of gold jewelry from emerging and established designers.
The black-tie event is known and celebrated for its glittering guest list, its unpredictable live auction, and its unrivaled success in generating funds for amfAR’s lifesaving AIDS research programs. Since 1993 Cinema Against AIDS events around the world have raised more than $80 million.
Here we captured Indian couturier – Tarun Tahiliani backstage and also the preparations up to the Gala Gold Fashion Show. Tarun shares the ramp with the stalwarts of global fashion- Valentino, Tom Ford, Burberry, Rick Owens, Alexander McQueen and the likes. Cheers to that!
