The Spring-Summer 2017 ready-to-wear collections are being showcased in Paris Fashion Week. The season seems to be absolutely influenced by the 80’s look, of which I am no great fan. The ‘Dynasty Shoulders’, boxy silhouettes, puffed sleeves, glitter and the bouffant made appearance show after show.
On the opening day of Paris Fashion Week, the new designer at Saint Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello made his debut in the design house with the spring-summer 2017 show. Vaccarello had huge shoes to fit into after Heidi Slimane left Saint Laurent after three-and-half-years stint. Vaccarello started with a clean slate and said in an interview, “I don’t want to repeat the things he (Slimane) has done. It’s not about the garments, my idea of YSL lies in the attitude and how we handle things. There are fabrics like leather, vinyl, velvet, lace, but then they’re put on a girl of today.”
Oodles of boob-show through sheer lace and glittery nipple pasty on bared boob definitely took Saint Laurent on a sexier path. The collection demonstrated Vaccarello’s more sensual approach to design: the fit was tight, the skirts were short, and cleavages were low.
I loved the ‘YSL’ HEELS!
