Once Hollywood had honoured its best of the best, it was time for the stars to let their hair down and party. Four parties — the Governor’s ball, which is the official post-Oscar gala; the Vanity Fair party; Elton John’s Aids Foundation’s Oscar Viewing Party; and Madonna’s annual Oscar party — were the places to be seen on Sunday night in Los Angeles. Yes Demi Moore denied Cameron Diaz to be at Madonna’s bash because her ex – Ashton Kutcher and Cameron are reportedly having a fling. Poor Cameron missed out the Gucci goody-bag that Madonna gifted away to her guests.
Even Oscar Nominee George Clooney threw a late-night after-party dinner as the Vanity Fair do began to wind down. The exclusive invitation-only meal was held at the star’s favourite Hollywood restaurant Craig’s. Here Brad and Angelina, Emily Brunt, Salma Hayek and Cindy Crawford turned up.
As much as we love to obsess over what celebrities wear down the Academy Awards’ hallowed red carpet, it can be almost more interesting to see what they wear to the after-parties–for a couple of reasons. For one, those who make an outfit change often put on something a little more daring. Second, the parties draw a wider range of stylish celebrities, including those who didn’t get an invite to the main event. Kate Bosworth in Prabal Gurung, Sofia Coppola in YSL, Katy Perry in Blumarine, Claire Danes in Valentino, Dita Von Teese in Jenny Packham, Lily Collins in Monique Lhuillier and Elizabeth Olsen in Dior raised the fashion quotient.
The after party on Sheikh Zayed Road’s very own Crown Plaza was the venue for this event last week, was very good and a lot of nice photos too
