Last year Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi skipped the Republic Day Celebrations and rather went to the gym to build some muscles. It was a big disappointment for me and I posted about it. You can read that post here:

However good sense prevailed and the Congress VIce President and the party’s campaign head for the coming general election – Rahul Gandhi was there at the Republic Day Parade with sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe was this year’s guest of honour for the Republic Day Celebrations.
Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal too was at the parade wrapped in his trademark muffler, sitting comfortably in the super VIP area. So what happened to AAP’s denouncing ‘VIP’ culture???
I think for the ministers attending the republic day function seating is arranged by the organizers by name so Kejriwal may had no choice. Also I think so terrorist gang was planning to abduct him in exchange for freeing some terrorist as per news few days back so Delhi’s CM security has been increased due to this reason.
Had he not participated you would have said he is undemocratic and naxal and what not.
